Frequently Asked Questions
What is a French drain and how does it work?
A French drain is a perforated pipe set in a gravel-filled trench wrapped in geotextile fabric. Water in the surrounding soil flows into the gravel, enters the perforated pipe, and is carried by gravity to a lower discharge point — relieving saturation and hydrostatic pressure.
How much does a French drain cost in Houston?
Cost depends on length, depth, soil conditions, and the discharge solution your property requires. We provide a fixed, written quote after an on-site assessment — not a per-foot guess over the phone. Call 346-522-4469 to schedule yours.
Do you use corrugated pipe?
No. Corrugated (black-ribbed) pipe collapses and silts in within a few Houston seasons. We install rigid SDR35 PVC and will replace failed corrugated systems with engineered ones backed by a written warranty.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Houston French Drain is fully licensed and insured in Texas, and every job is completed by our in-house crew — no subcontractors.
How long does a French drain installation take?
Most residential systems are completed in one to three days depending on the length of the run, depth, and outfall complexity. We give you a realistic timeline in your written scope.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. We provide a written, multi-year workmanship warranty — something almost no Houston competitor offers. If an issue arises with a system we installed, we come back and make it right.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the greater Houston metro, including Memorial, River Oaks, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, Clear Lake, the Heights, Montrose, and many more neighborhoods.
How do I get started?
